The Shirts Off Our Backs examines the ubiquitous white shirt - from waiters to Prime Ministers and all in-between, when left on a hanger disembodied the shirts hold so many connotations. It is in the realms of the cloth that I wish to capture - character and the visual codes of the inner world. The white shirt hasn't the despicable history of the "brown shirts" or "black shirts". Within the white shirt is a rich vein of reverie because ultimately it is so very ordinary, everyday, it's almost invisible as the blankest canvas.
